Happy Candlemas Day! After years of celebrating Ground Hog's Day today we are celebrating Candlemas Day. The day that falls exactly between winter and summer solstice. It takes its name from the blessing of candles for use in church throughout the coming year. If Candlemas Day be fair and bright Winter will have another flight If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain Winter will not come again

We used tunnels as burrows this week. Dottie found her sight words in her burrow and she POPPED OUT and read them to me!

This week we have learned about shadows, and how light is a necessary ingredient for making them. Dottie experimented with her shadow moving at different times of the day. She also used a flashlight to trace shadows to make shadow art. Later she performed a shadow play. Interesting set up I know The Cow jumping over the Moon
