After tallying all week, we finished up with this fun addition game. We had to match the equations to the proper sums to fill our icebergs! Dottie won, of course!

To review all the sight words we have learned so far we placed them on "icebergs" and jumped from one to another while reading them aloud!

This week's math goal was to learn to tally. First we read Counting Penguins and Dottie learned to tally on her dry erase board. Later she followed up with some assessment worksheets. The next day she pretended to be a scientist in Antartica who counted penguins. She tallied the different groups she found on her research paper.

This week we have flipped the globe upside down to study Antarctica. We started by reading a book called Polar Animals. It explained about what scientists do in Antarctica and what animals live there. Dottie then wrote the names of those animals on her paper by the South Pole. She followed up with some Antarctic Art, say that three times fast!

Week 18 is a 3 day week.
