This week we focused on patterns in Math. We did several worksheets but also played two fun games. First we matched the snowmen tummy patterns. Later we sorted and named Christmas patterns, AB, ABB,ABC,AAB, etc.
To conclude our study of our bodies this week. Dottie labeled body parts in this book. She thought the skeleton was "gross". We also played a sight word game with gingerbread cookies on cookie sheets. We played the match game. The days of the week were each written on two of the cookie sheets. We removed the cookies to read the words, then got to keep the cookies if we made a match!
On Day 3 we played a Gingerbread game where we rolled dice to put together each piece of the gingerbread mans body. The first to make a whole body wins! Dottie loved it! We also played a game on Starfall.com where you put together a gingerbread man.
We have been studying the desert habitat, which we lead into next week's study of the nativity. We have read books and colored habitat pages, but today we found all the deserts of the worls. We used wax strips to mark them on our laminated map. We also marked Bethlehem the city of Jesus's birth. Guess what it was in a desert! Later we made an I spy Desert book!
Day 2 we dressed a gingerbread by way of a book. Dottie also had fun decorating a gingerbread house with her Daddy before bedtime! Sweet House for a sweet girl!
This week we learn about our bodies and to mix in a little Christmas cheer we do that with Gingerbread boys and girls. Day 1 we read the story and acted out the story with our character masks. Then we made gingerbread cookies just like in the story. The Gingerbread Man The farmer couldn't catch him Run, Run as fast as !You can't catch me! I'm the gingerbread man! The cow couldn't catch him! But the sly fox...... ate him up! Cookie Time Mix them Roll them Cut them Decorate them Enjoy Them!
