Frog and Turtle Counting Book

This book we used with the number 13 to emphasise one-to-one correspondence (pointing to something as you count it).Firs,t we cut out 14 squares of paper. I wrote the title of our book on the first page. Next, we used finger paint to put fingerprint on one page, two on the next, and so on. We set them aside to dry. Later, I came back and made some fingerprints into frogs and some into turtles. I didn't write the number on the page so she would have to point to each fingerprint to count them and put the pages in order. Then we stapled the sides to make a book. Fingerprints Frogs and Turtles 1-13 in order

Busy Busy Town for Kindergarten

In week 3 of Kindergarten the social studies unit is neighborhoods/towns. We read Busy Busy Town by Richard Scarry and Dottie built her own city with Melissa and Doug town blocks. These blocks include some of the important places that make up a town like the post office, library, grocery store, fire station, and school. It was sooo much fun! Book and Blocks Future Architect? Builder? School Bus Driver? Civil Engineer? Designer? Mayor!
